An energy assessment shows not only how much the building consumes, but also where the greatest heat losses occur and which direction is worth taking next.

The energy performance certificate is a document produced using a regulated calculation method; it presents the property’s energy characteristics and its rating.

Energy consulting goes further: it examines which upgrades are worth considering for the specific building, what effect they could have on energy use, and which technical aspects should be weighed before deciding.

There is no single answer that applies to every building. The payback depends heavily on the building’s current condition, structure, heating system, energy consumption, how it is used, and the cost of the upgrade.

So rather than looking for the “best” investment in the abstract, it is worth asking which measures produce the most favourable technical and financial result for that particular building.

When a residential property is sold, Hungarian Government Decree 176/2008 (VI. 30.) on the energy performance certification of buildings requires an energy performance certificate, and statutory rules govern how it is produced and presented. In certain cases, however, exemptions may apply.

If you are not sure whether a certificate is required for your property, it is worth checking in advance.

The time needed depends on the size of the property, the documentation available and the circumstances of the on-site survey. After the survey, the data has to be processed and the calculation prepared.

If you need the certificate at short notice, please say so when requesting a quote. In urgent cases I do my best to bring the work forward and deliver the certificate by the deadline you need.
